📰 TCG News
Note: Some updates may touch on wider Pokémon news beyond the TCG.
🔵 All 30 Classic Collection Cards from “30th Celebration” Likely Revealed!
September's 30th Celebration set will reprint 30 classic cards with a Pikachu stamp and special holofoil treatment, and Japan's 30th Celebration website appears to have teased the full Classic Collection lineup through a flashing card sequence.
The list spans Base Set through Paldea Evolved and mixes collector favorites like Crystal Lugia, Shining Celebi, and the Illustration Rare Magikarp with competitive staples like Erika's Jigglypuff, Greninja BREAK, and Arceus VSTAR.
🔵 “30th Celebration” Boxes Featuring Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, and Pikachu ex Revealed!
Two new 30th Celebration products were revealed at the ongoing Japan Championships. The 30th Celebration Futuristic Box launches in Japan on September 16 and will include two Pikachu ex Futuristic Rare promos themed after day and night alongside premium TCG accessories, priced at 27,500 yen (about $171). Additional products featuring Espeon ex and Umbreon ex were also revealed alongside the Futuristic Box.
🔵 Target Employees Filmed Cutting Pokemon Box Seals to Deter Scalpers
A viral video shows a Target manager cutting the seals on Pokemon TCG boxes before shelving them, telling customers the move is meant to mitigate the store's scalping problem and claiming the directive came from Target corporate, enforced store-by-store. Target did not immediately respond to a media request for comment.
Cutting the seal makes products visibly less appealing on the secondary market. Reactions have been mixed, with many collectors welcoming the move while others note scalpers can still resell individual packs and that fewer sealed products in circulation could raise prices for any remaining pristine boxes.
