Chaos Rising English Cards Revealed, All Cut and Added Cards Now Known
TPCi revealed several English cards from Chaos Rising, the next English set releasing May 22 with prereleases running May 9-17. The set will be a near 1:1 adaptation of Japan's Ninja Spinner, making it another small English set following the pattern of Phantasmal Flames and Perfect Order. Fennekin's Illustration Rare has been cut from the main set and will instead serve as the Elite Trainer Box promo.
The trend of smaller English sets stems from Japan's recent decision to stop printing subsets, leaving fewer Japanese card pools to pull from when building English releases. Whether this reflects a strategy to address global TCG supply shortages by printing more copies of fewer unique cards, or a permanent shift toward smaller, more frequent releases, remains unclear.
