PSA Parent Company Faces Antitrust Lawsuit Over SGC & Beckett Acquisitions
Collectors Holdings, the parent company of PSA, is facing a proposed class action lawsuit alleging its acquisitions of SGC (February 2024) and Beckett (December 2025) created an illegal monopoly in trading card grading. The suit claims Collectors now controls roughly 80% of the market, and that following the acquisitions, SGC prices increased 20% and turnaround times grew by as much as 400%. The plaintiff is seeking damages and forced divestment of both SGC and Beckett. Congressman Pat Ryan had previously urged the FTC to investigate. Collectors has not yet filed a response.
